de Frou zur Toachter „gäh in den Goarten,
und jags Häsichen.“ Seits Mäken zum
Häsichen „schu! schu! du Häsichen,
frißt noch allen Koal.“

dich uf min Haosenschwänzeken und kumm mit in

Altar war unterm Regenbogen).

La fiancée du petit lapin
Il était une fois une femme avec sa fille qui
avaient un beau jardin de choux. Un lapin y vint,
à la saison d'hiver, et voilà qu'il
leur mangeait tous les choux. Alors la femme dit à
sa fille:
- Va au jardin et chasse-moi le lapin! - Ouste! ouste!
dit la fille. Petit lapin, tu nous boulottes tous
les choux! - Viens, fillette, dit le lapin, mets-toi
sur ma queue de petit lapin et suis-moi dans ma chaumière
de petit lapin.
La fille ne veut pas. Le lendemain, revient le petit
lapin qui mange encore les choux, et la femme dit
à sa fille: - Va au jardin et chasse-moi le
lapin!
- Ouste! ouste! dit la fille. Petit lapin, encore
tu nous boulottes nos choux!
- Viens, fillette, dit le lapin, mets-toi sur ma queue
de petit lapin et suis-moi dans ma chaumière
de petit lapin. La fille ne veut pas.
Le surlendemain, voilà le petit lapin revenu,
en train de boulotter les choux. Alors, la mère
dit à sa fille: - Va au jardin et chasse-moi
le lapin!
- Viens, fillette, dit le lapin, mets-toi sur ma queue
de petit lapin et suis-moi dans ma chaumière
de petit lapin.
La fille s'assied sur le petit bout de queue du lapin,
qui file au loin et la mène dans sa chaumière.-
Maintenant, fillette, fais bouillir le chou vert et
le millet, je vais inviter les gens de la noce. Et
les invités de la noce arrivèrent tous
ensemble. Mais qui étaient les gens de la noce?
Je peux te le dire parce que c'est ce qu'on m'a raconté:
les invités, c'étaient tous les lapins,
et le corbeau y était venu aussi comme curé
pour unir les époux, et le renard était
le sacristain, et l'autel sous l'arc-en-ciel.
Mais la fillette se sentait triste: elle était
toute seule.
Arrive le petit lapin, qui lui dit:
- Viens servir! Viens servir! Les invités sont
gais!
La fiancée ne dit rien. Elle pleure. Petit
lapin s'en va. Petit lapin revient.
- Sers-les donc! lui dit-il. Sers-les donc! Les invités
sont affamés!

La fiancée ne dit toujours rien; alors petit
lapin s'en va. Elle fait une poupée de paille,
qu'elle habille de ses vêtements, lui met une
cuillère de bois dans la main, la pose devant
la marmite au millet, puis s'en retourne chez sa mère.
Petit lapin revient encore une fois en criant:
" Vas-tu servir? Vas-tu servir? " Il se
précipite sur la poupée de paille et
lui frappe un coup sur la tête, qui lui fait
tomber son bonnet. Il s'aperçoit alors que
ce n'est pas sa fiancée et s'éloigne;
et il est tout triste.

casetta-. La fanciulla non volle. Il giorno dopo il leprotto
tornò a mangiare il cavolo, e la donna disse di nuovo
alla figlia: -Va' nell'orto e scaccia il leprotto-.
La fanciulla disse al leprotto: -Via, via, leprotto, non mangiare
tutto il cavolo!-. Il leprotto disse: -Vieni, fanciulla, siediti
sul mio codino e vieni nella mia casetta-. La fanciulla non
volle. Il terzo giorno il leprotto tornò a mangiare il

dirò come me l'hanno raccontata: erano tutte lepri, la
cornacchia faceva da parroco per benedire gli sposi, la volpe
da sagrestano, e l'altare era sotto l'arcobaleno.) Ma la fanciulla
era triste, perché era tanto sola. Il leprotto va a dirle:
-Apri, apri! gli invitati sono allegri-. La sposa non dice nulla
e piange. Il leprotto se ne va, poi torna e dice: -Apri, apri!

There was once a woman who lived with her daughter in a beautiful
cabbage-garden; and there came a rabbit and ate up all the cabbages.
At last said the woman to her daughter, "Go into the garden,
and drive out the rabbit." - "Shoo! shoo!" said
the maiden; "don't eat up all our cabbages, little rabbit!"
- "Come, maiden," said the rabbit, "sit on my
tail and go with me to my rabbit-hutch." But the maiden
would not. Another day, back came the rabbit, and ate away at
the cabbages, until the woman said to her daughter, "Go
into the garden, and drive away the rabbit." - "Shoo!
shoo!" said the maiden; "don't eat up all our cabbages,
little rabbit!" - "Come, maiden," said the rabbit,
"sit on my tail and go with me to my rabbit-hutch."
But the maiden would not. Again, a third time back
came the rabbit, and ate away at the cabbages, until the woman
said to her daughter, "Go into the garden, and drive away
the rabbit." "Shoo!

little rabbit!" - "Come, maiden," said the rabbit,

wedding guests." And soon they were all collected. Would
you like to know who they were? Well, I can only tell you what
was told to me; all the hares came, and the crow who was to
be the parson to marry them, and the fox for the clerk, and
the altar was under t he rainbow.
But the maiden was sad, because she was so lonely. "Get
up! get up!" said the rabbit,"the wedding folk are
all merry." But the bride wept and said nothing, and the
rabbit went away, but very soon came back again. "Get up!
get up!" said he, "the wedd ing folk are waiting."
But the bride said nothing, and the rabbit went away.
Then she made a figure of straw, and dressed it in her own clothes,
and gave it a red mouth, and set it to watch the kettle of bran,
and then she went home to her mother. Back again came the rabbit,
saying, "Get up! get up!" and he went up and hit the
straw figure on the head, so that it tumbled down. And the rabbit
thought that he had killed his bride, and he went away and was
very sad.
